Bobi wine arrested as police fire live bullets and tear gas to protesters

Kyadondo East legislator and singer Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine was arrested alongside his spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi and Bugiri Municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa and taken to Kasangati police station , where they were  later transferred to Nagalama police station where they are detained.

Police was forced to fire tear gas to prevent Kyagulanyi from holding his first presidential consultation meeting in Gayaza town.

Kyagulanyi was given a go ahead by the Uganda Electoral Commission chairman Justice Simon Byabakama in December 2019 to hold his countrywide consultation meetings.

The consultations were to start in Kyadondo east where the Kyagulanyi  is a representative in the parliament, they to go to Gulu, Lira, Yumbe, Arua, Zombo and Adjumani districts.
