State minister for Agriculture Christopher Kibanzanga has been withdrawn off his chief prince title by his brother “omusinga” Charles Wesley Mumbere.
This has come after the king accusing his brother Kibanzanga for stealing the body of the Queen Mother, Christine Biira Mukirania, from Fort Portal Hospital mortuary on June 14 and burying her two days later at Kirindi Village in Bundibugyo District.
It’s noted that Mumbere had ordered that his mother be buried at Nyamirangara Village in Muhokya Sub-county, Kasese District, on June 18 which Kibanzanga defied.
In a letter that we have read the king suspended the minister off his position and title of being the chief prince of the kingdom.
“By the virtue of powers entrusted to me by the constitution of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu and the royal family, I hereby suspend your position and title of the chief prince,” he wrote in a letter dated June 25.
“Your behavior on June 14 worsened our grief. I was particularly upset including your other siblings (members of the royal family), when you aggressively stormed Buhinga Hospital mortuary and took away the body of our mother.”
However, the minister Kibazanga hasn’t responded to his suspension from his position in the kingdom.
