Speaker of Parliament Ms. Rebecca Kadaga has mourned all those that perished in a boat accident that occurred on Lake Victoria on weekend.
In a statement released Monday afternoon, the Speaker also says parliament will plug any loopholes in the laws that regulate the management of the water transport in Uganda.
“I pledge commitment by Parliament of Uganda to expeditiously plug any loopholes in the law that regulate the management of the water transport in our country as soon as possible as they are presented by the government of Uganda,” Kadaga wrote.
“At this trying time, offer my most sincere condolences on this loss of lives, sympathy for the trauma that the families, friends and we Ugandans are going through,” she wrote in a statement and that “we shall continue to pray for the families left behind and those who are still in hospital.”
The speaker joins other top dignitaries in the country who have come out to express their sorrow to the grieving families of those that lost their lives in the tragic accident that happened on lake victoria
